Mumbai, earlier known as Bombay, is known by many sobriquets—the city of dreams, the city that never sleeps, financial capital of India, celluloid capital of India et al. The city is a tourist’s delight.

Situated on the western coast of India, the best time to visit Mumbai is during winters between November and March. Once a cluster of seven islands, Mumbai was presented to King Charles II in 1661 as part of the dowry when he married Princess Catherine de Braganza of Portugal.

Gateway of India is the most prominent landmark of Mumbai. The monument was built in 1911 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar. For those interested in history, a visit to Prince of Wales Museum is must. The museum stores antique items of art, sculpture, china, rare coins, old firearms and miniature paintings. Other places worth visiting in Mumbai are Kamala Nehru Park, and Hanging Gardens. Marine drive is a perfect spot to hangout in the evenings. Juhu beach and Chowpatty are ideal places for beach lovers,

Mumbai is also famous for its sparkling nightlife. The place has host of nightclubs and pubs. Mumbai is also a shopper's delight with bargain buys, exclusive boutiques, ethnic markets and mini bazaars. Magnetism of Mumbai leaves no one untouched.
